They can also be combined with KT single foot guides in larger sizes to form an unbreakably secure guide train from butt to tip with complete tangle protection, proving themselves tough enough for extreme surf rod conditions up to 50mm ring size. K-R Concept Guides

Fuji noticed the trend toward smaller guides and decided to do something about it. They studied the problem carefully and conducted their own research, ultimately devising their K-R Concept solution – tailored specifically towards micro rods but applicable with any braided line type.

Building better rods using more guides strategically placed is the goal here, even with smaller diameter lines. Through testing, builders discovered that adding several extra guides did not add weight to their train but increased sensitivity and casting distance while providing additional points of contact that helped maintain proper line flow and reduce twist.

Fuji went one step further than most manufacturers by designing new frames and inserts for its K-R Concept Guides, featuring lighter frames than typical aluminum oxide or alconite and inserts made of silicon carbide (SiC) or Torzite material that offers harder, smoother and tougher performance than aluminum oxide inserts while helping dissipate line heat, prevent wear, eliminate grooves in lines, as well as being 30 percent lighter while offering similar strength in narrower rings.

KB, KT and KL-H guides feature a new frame and insert design that makes them incredibly flexible in terms of their fit in any reduction guide train. Their 30-degree slope between frame and ring enhances tangle-free operation while simultaneously helping reduce stress at the point of contact with line, making it simple for them to quickly transition the line from its spool into smooth flow.

Titanium may present some limitations, but these can easily be overcome. One major concern with titanium is that it can be easily damaged when bent with a snapping motion; when adjusting temples or endpieces.
